The Introduction to Computer Forensics is a fast paced course that teaches students how to identify, acquire, analyze, and report on computer based evidence. The primary focus is on properly identifying and acquiring digital evidence. Techniques and tools are discussed for analyzing digital evidence. Students will get hands-on experience with several acquisition tools and analysis tools.

• Detailed discussion of Hard Drives, both physical & logical and how to identify them
• Discussion of the initial process of evidence acquisition and why a Forensically sound boot disk is an essential component of each forensic tool kit
• Hands-on: Forensic Boot Disk Creation (includes orientation to Hex editors)
