The original Forensic Air-Lite V was the result of a request by a US government component for a very fast and durable system that is self-contained. The Forensic Air-Lite V MK II is the updated version of the legacy FAL V. Like other Forensic Computers, Inc. systems, the Forensic Air-Lite V MK II was designed and tested to strict forensic requirements.

The Forensic Air-Lite V MK II is equipped with a Intel® Duo Core Processor with 4MB L2 cache, a Tableau T35i SATA/IDE Drive Bay, a one Combo DVD +R/+RW/-R/-RW drive, and two 160GB SATA Drives (one for the OS and the other for DATA) in a CRU DataPort removable drive bay enclosure. The removable drive bay capability makes this a first choice for systems used in a classified environment. The system also has an Adaptec 29320 Ultra 320 SCSI card. As always, the Tableau write protection bridges and cables for SATA, IDE and SCSI drives are included.

The Forensic Air-Lite V MK II system is compatible with all commercial forensic acquisition and analysis software including EnCase®, Forensic Tool Kit®, SMART®, SafeBack®, all of the Mares tools, and other older MS-DOS® based legacy tools.
