The Tableau TC6-8 is a high-quality, 80-conductor IDE cable with one 40-pin IDE connector at each end. The TC6-8 is 8 inches long and incorporates strain reliefs and pull-tabs at each end, making it rugged enough for hundreds or even thousands of forensic examinations.

NOTE: When using IDE hard disk adapters such as the Tableau TDA5-25 (2.5") and TDA5-18 (1.8"), use the shorter Tableau TC6-2 cable instead. The TC6-2 is 2 inches long but otherwise identical to the TC6-8. Using the shorter TC6-2 when using IDE drive adapters for notebook hard disks will help to ensure data integrity and trouble-free operation.

The TC5-8 is an eight inch power cable with a 4-pin female "Molex"-style power connector at one end and a 15-pin SATA-style power connector at the other end. The TC5-8 is intended to conduct power from a Tableau T3u or T345 forensic bridge to a subject SATA hard disk.

NOTE: SATA hard disks have either a 4-pin "Molex"-style power connector (also referred to as a legacy power connector), a newer 15-pin SATA-style power connector, or both. SATA hard disks with the older connector can use the TC2-8. SATA hard disks with the newer connector can use the TC5-8. SATA hard disks with both connectors can use either the TC2-8 or TC5-8, but you must never use both at the same time.

The TC17 is a "Y" cable which is used to provide power from a Tableau T2 Power Switch to a T14, T14-RW, or T15 Forensic Bridge.

The TC17 has a female 4-pin "Molex"-style connector at one end which mates to the output connector on the T2 Power Switch. The TC17 has a second 4-pin "Molex"-style power connector to power a hard disk and one 4-pin "floppy"-style power connector to power a T14, T14-RW, or T15.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are using the T15 Forensic SATA Bridge and a SATA hard disk which has the newer 15-pin SATA-style power connector, you must remember that the T15 will provide power directly to the SATA hard disk. In this situation, you must not use the 4-pin "Molex"-style power lead on the TC17 to power the SATA hard disk. When using the T15 Forensic SATA Bridge, you may only use the 4-pin "Molex"-style power lead on the TC17 if the SATA hard disk has only the older "Molex"-style power connector.

To remove either of the connectors from a device, one must grasp the plastic housing of the Molex or the 4-pin "floppy" or Berg connectors and gently pull or rock the plastic housing from side to side. Do NOT pull by the wiring, as this will disrupt the electrical connection.
